Bashaarat Masood wins Ramnath Goenka Award for reporting on Pathribal fake encounter

Bashaarat Masood, a Special Correspondent with The Indian Express, has covered Jammu and Kashmir for two decades. He joined the newspaper after obtaining his Masters in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Kashmir. Bashaarat won the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Award in 2012 for reporting on the Pathribal fake encounter, and continues to cover political transitions, security issues, and development in the region.
