Shiv Sena(UBT) and MNS announce alliance ahead of Municipal Corporation elections
Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray, leaders of the Shiv Sena (UBT) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), respectively, announced an alliance for the January 15th civic elections in Mumbai. The parties will share seats for the crucial Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, with Mr. Raj stating that a Marathi person will be elected as the Mayor of Mumbai. Sanjay Raut, Shiv Sena (UBT)'s spokesperson, called the alliance historic and praised the leadership of the Thackerays.
