On Tuesday, July 14, 2026, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district reconstructed the sequence of events related to a girl's rape and murder at Baruipur. The three accused—Kabir Molla, Ananda Sardar, and Dibakar Sardar—were taken to the crime scene with forensic experts collecting new samples. This followed last week’s encounter death of one accused, Prabhas Mondal, during a similar reconstruction. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari assured the victim's family that the investigation would be closely monitored. Four cases were registered including rape and murder, mob violence, attacks on police, and disruption of railway services.
