DTC to add 50 all-women buses with safety features on 25 busy routes
On Saturday, the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) announced plans to expand its ladies special service by adding around 50 buses with safety features like all-women staff and CCTV cameras. Currently running on two routes, these buses will be deployed on up to 25 busy routes including Central Delhi and ITO areas. The government aims to deploy 25 as University Specials and 25 in Outer Delhi, operating from 5 am to 11-12 pm under the PM E-DRIVE Scheme for electric vehicles (EVs). Mothers with children are allowed; men are not permitted.
