Several civil rights organizations have demanded an investigation into the July 8 encounter in Baruipur where Prabhas Mondal, accused in a sexual assault and murder case, was killed. They allege it was a fake encounter and call for a Calcutta High Court judge to investigate all related incidents, including mob lynching of Indrajit Mondal. The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation also supports this demand. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari is expected to visit Baruipur again next week.
