
Suspect in Bengal Girl's Rape-Murder Killed in Police Encounter

Pravesh Mondal, one of three suspects arrested for the rape and murder of an 11-year-old girl in Baruipur, Kolkata, was killed during a police encounter last night. The incident occurred after Mondal tried to snatch a firearm from officers while being taken to the crime scene for reconstruction. The two other suspects, Ananda Sardar and Dibakar Sardar, have confessed to their involvement in the crime. The girl's body was found stuffed in a sack from a pond, and an autopsy revealed she was alive at the time of the attack.
