Utah boarding school where Paris Hilton alleged abuse as a teen loses its licence
Provo Canyon School, a Utah girls' boarding school, has had its licence revoked by the Utah Department of Health and Human services (DHHS) after years of complaints about abuse, neglect, and inadequate care. The school, which previously faced closure demands from former residents and complaints to the state licensing agency, was cited for unnecessary restraint, aggressive physical contact, and instances of neglect. Paris Hilton, who spent time at the school in the 1990s and has campaigned against the "troubled teen industry", welcomed the decision, stating that it confirms what survivors have known all along: Provo Canyon School failed the children in its care. The school is considering an appeal.
