Bengal CM: Lynched Youth Innocent, Police Lapses in Rape-Murder Probe
Police lapses in a rape and murder investigation raise serious concerns about justice.
Suvendu Adhikari, Chief Minister of West Bengal, demanded a report from the Director General of Police (DGP) on possible police lapses in the investigation of the rape and murder of an 11-year-old girl in Baruipur. Adhikari visited the area and met with the families of both the victim and the lynched youth, who was later found innocent. He stated that those responsible for the violence will be charged with murder and arrested. The chief minister also pledged to provide compensation and assistance to the families involved and promised to return to Baruipur within a week to address their needs.
