School library books ‘glorifying’ separatists: J-K minister vows strict action, police search publisher | India News

Following the withdrawal of two books from Jammu and Kashmir school libraries due to alleged "highly inappropriate content" on separatism, the counter-intelligence wing of the J&K Police conducted searches at a publisher's premises. The Education Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Sakina Itoo, described the situation as a "deliberate conspiracy" and vowed strict action against those involved. The books, published by Oberoi Book Service, Jammu, and Anurag Prakashan, Delhi, were supplied to schools under the Samagra Shiksha program. The commissioner of the School Education Department issued an order blacklisting the authors and their publishing houses from further publication in the region.
