Freed Palestinian Fathers Detained Abroad, Children Left Behind

Palestinian prisoners who were released as part of the 2025 Israel-Hamas prisoner exchange have been deported to Egypt, separating them from their families in the West Bank. Many children born via smuggled sperm are unable to meet their fathers due to strict Israeli restrictions and deportation policies. Families report being denied permission to travel to see their loved ones, leading to emotional distress and a sense of incompleteness in their newfound freedom. The Palestinian Prisoners Club estimates that 383 prisoners were deported, with at least 100 families affected by the separation.
