Rs 700-Crore Delhi Medical Scam: Two Accused Sent To Judicial Custody

The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) is investigating alleged irregularities in the procurement of medicines, medical equipment, and healthcare supplies for Delhi government hospitals. Dr. Vatsala Aggarwal, former Director General of Health Services, and Neeraj Chopra, former Deputy Controller of Accounts at the Central Procurement Agency, were arrested, joining Dr. Vinod Kumar Ranga, former CPA Head of Office, in custody. The investigation is examining potential manipulation of procurement procedures, with an estimated Rs 650-700 crore worth of supplies under scrutiny. The ACB is also looking into a suspected middleman who allegedly influenced procurement decisions and may be questioned as the probe progresses.
