
Police Sub-Inspector in Bengaluru arrested in Pocso case
Police abuse of power and sexual assault of minors is a serious crime.
Praveen, a police sub-inspector from Amruthahalli Police Station in Bengaluru, was arrested on June 29 for allegedly sexually abusing minor boys under the guise of interrogation. The alleged incident occurred a year ago when he detained the boys during a murder investigation and is accused of assaulting them, forcing them into obscene acts, and recording the abuse on his phone. Videos of the alleged abuse surfaced on social media prompting an investigation that was later transferred to Kothanur Police Station. The accused officer has been remanded in police custody while a police constable, Raghavendra, who allegedly assisted him, has also been suspended.
