Assaulted over ‘Urdu classes’ he didn’t teach, Telangana school principal speaks out | Hyderabad News

A principal at Bharat Chandra High School in Armoor, Telangana was allegedly manhandled by a group of men after he taught Urdu to a class of 25 students. The incident occurred on June 27th and was caught on video. Principal Aamir Khan, who is an English teacher, claims the classes were brief and that they were only offered for two days. The school management board, which is headed by Hindu persons, initiated the Urdu classes after a request from Muslim parents. The incident has sparked controversy with accusations of religious indoctrination from local BJP leaders. Armoor police are investigating both complaints filed against the principal and the BJP leader.
