Dr Vatsala Aggarwal Former Top Delhi Health Official Arrested In Multi-Crore Medical Scam Case
Abuse of power and institutional failure in medical procurement are serious concerns.
Dr Vatsala Aggarwal, former Director General of Health Services (DGHS), was arrested by the Delhi government's Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) in connection with a multi-crore medical procurement scam. The arrest follows that of Dr Vijay Kumar Ranga, who was earlier detained and sent to four days' police custody. The case involves inflated rates and manipulated tenders for medical equipment and supplies procured through the Central Procurement Agency (CPA), which is under the DGHS. The ACB alleges that procurements were made at highly inflated rates through manipulated tender processes, resulting in misuse of public funds running into hundreds of crores.
