Manickam Tagore, a three-time MP from Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, has been appointed as the new Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president. He replaces K Selvaperunthagai and was rewarded for his role in securing power for the party in the recent elections. Tagore is also the AICC in-charge of party affairs in Andhra Pradesh and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
