ED plea in Kerala HC seeks cancellation of bail for accused in attack on its officials
Potential abuse of power by ED seeking to overturn bail based on unproven claims.
The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has filed a petition in the Kerala High Court seeking the cancellation of bail granted to Harish Kumar, an accused in the attack on ED officials during a raid on former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's residence. The agency argues that the court should have denied bail due to concerns about misinformed information and potential involvement of other leaders, as well as improper evidence recovery and lack of investigation into organizers. The High Court will consider the petition shortly. Meanwhile, a plea was filed to implead Sanath Reddy Polamreddy, the ED official who led the raid, in the bail application.
