CCTV Camera Covered, Cash Hidden In Toilet: Inside Story Of Ram Temple Theft

Champat Rai and Anil Mishra, two officials of the Ayodhya Ram Temple Trust, resigned on moral grounds following an investigation into alleged theft from donation boxes. An interim report by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) revealed that eight individuals, including six temple staff members who handled counting duties, were involved in siphoning funds totaling around Rs 7-7.5 crore. The suspects allegedly concealed stolen cash in bathrooms and smuggled it out of the temple premises. The SIT has identified Tinnu Yadav and Subhash Srivastava as key players in the conspiracy, while discrepancies between the number of hundis and records suggest negligence on the part of officials.
