Punjab BJP Chief Praises Maharashtra's Move To Consult Sikhs On Takht Law
Kewal Singh Dhillon, Punjab BJP president, urged for wider consultations with the Sikh community before any legislation concerning the administration of Takht Sri Hazur Sahib in Maharashtra. He expressed concern over the proposed law, which would replace the existing Nanded Sikh Gurdwara Sachkhand Sri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib Act, 1956. Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra Chief Minister, responded positively to Dhillon's concerns and deputed a cabinet colleague to discuss the matter further. Dhillon expressed confidence that the committee formed for wider consultations would ensure all Panthic voices are heard.
