The case has been flagged to the Gujarat State Blood Transfusion Council and the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, and an FIR has been registered against Chaudhary and others under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. Praful Pansheriya, Minister of State for Health, stated that this is likely the first such case in Gujarat and possibly nationwide.
