Ram temple donation row: FIR lodged over ‘embezzlement of donations’
Allegations of embezzlement of temple donations raise concerns about misuse of public trust.
Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust filed an FIR at the Ram Janmabhoomi police station in Ayodhya, accusing eight individuals of embezzlement, fraud, criminal conspiracy, and breach of trust related to missing donations. The case was initiated following a preliminary investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and a written complaint from Krishna Mohan, a member of the Trust. Ajay Rai, Uttar Pradesh Congress unit president, criticized the FIR for targeting minor culprits while shielding higher-ups like Champat Rai. Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) international president Alok Kumar called for a comprehensive investigation into allegations of irregularities in donations.
