Don’t accord separate recognition to rebel MPs, Sena (UBT) MPs urge Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla | India News
Members of Parliament (MPs) from the Shiv Sena (UBT) met with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, urging him not to recognize the six rebel MPs who have joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena. The MPs, who crossed over in June, argued that the Tenth Schedule of the Constitution prohibits a group of legislators from merging with another party based solely on numerical strength. Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders emphasized that any such merger would violate constitutional provisions and requested Birla to not allow the rebel MPs to form a separate group or be allotted separate seating in Parliament.
