Probe on to identify Karnataka BJP MLAs who cross-voted; ‘will be punished’, says high command

BJP national president Nitin Nabin convened a meeting with party leaders from Karnataka to address cross-voting in the recent Legislative Council elections. The meeting saw strong concerns raised about lack of discipline within the state unit, as demonstrated by the cross-voting that led to the Congress candidate's victory despite the BJP fielding two candidates and the JD(S) fielding a seventh candidate. Nabin expressed dissatisfaction with the incident, while Ashok, a leader of the opposition in the State Assembly, stated that action would be taken against those who betrayed the party. The deadline for the committee to submit its report is June 25th.
