
Vijay forms three-member committee to probe ammonia leak at seafood processing unit in Tiruvallur district
Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay ordered the formation of a three-member inquiry committee to investigate an ammonia gas leak at a seafood processing factory in Tiruvallur district that resulted in the death of two workers and injuries to 60 others. The committee, consisting of the Director of Industrial Safety and Health, Member-Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, and Additional Director of Public Health, will submit interim and final reports within 24 hours and three days respectively. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences to the families of the victims while Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar offered his sympathies to those affected by the tragedy.
