The Ram Janmabhoomi Kshetra Teerth Trust, responsible for managing donations and funds related to the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, is facing allegations of misappropriation of funds. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been appointed by the Uttar Pradesh government to investigate these claims, which include accusations that gold, silver, and diamond ornaments donated by devotees have been replaced with fake items, and money stolen from the temple's collection. The SIT is examining records, counting processes, bookkeeping, and interviewing officials involved in managing donations and maintaining accounts. Anil Mishra, a member of the trust, oversees the entire donation process, while Subhash Srivastava, a retired bank official, directly oversees the counting process. The trust employs thousands of staff members, including security guards, cooks, cleaners, and ex-Army personnel.
