Mili Mohan to be Kozhikode district panchayat president; K.K. Navas vice president

The United Democratic Front (UDF) announced its candidates for key posts in the Kozhikode Corporation and district panchayat. K. Praveen Kumar, District Congress Committee president, and M.K. Muneer, MLA, declared the candidates at separate press conferences. The Congress and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) will share the post of district panchayat president, with Mili Mohan of the Congress holding it for two-and-a-half years and K.K. Navas of the IUML as vice president. The UDF council party leader positions were also shared between Shalmeel Thangal (IUML) and Manakkal Sasi (Congress).
