Pawanraje Nimbalkar, Omraje Nimbalkar, Shiv Sena UBT: How A 20-Year-Old Murder Became Factor In Uddhav Sena Rebellion
Allegations of influencing justice for political gain are a serious concern.
Omraje Nimbalkar, son of the late Pawanraje Nimbalkar, a prominent Congress leader, is one of six Shiv Sena MPs who have allegedly rebelled. Sanjay Raut, a senior leader in the Uddhav Thackeray faction, claims that Nimbalkar is considering switching allegiances because he was promised a favorable verdict in the 20-year-old murder case involving his father. The murder of Pawanraje Nimbalkar and his driver, Samad Kazi, occurred in 2006 and has been linked to political rivalry with former Maharashtra Home Minister Padamsinh Patil. A verdict in the case is expected on Saturday.
