Voting for Karnataka Legislative Council polls begins
Polling for seven seats in the Karnataka Legislative Council began on June 18th at the Vidhan Soudha in Bengaluru. The ruling Congress, with 37 members, is expected to secure a majority by winning four seats, while the BJP is anticipated to win two. The Congress has nominated five candidates, including KPCC president B.K. Hariprasad and Tippanna Kamakanoor, who are expected to win comfortably. The JD(S) is also vying for one seat against Vinay Karthik and Govindaraju. Voting is by secret ballot with a minimum of 28 votes required to win.
