Ramalinga Reddy resigns from Ministry, says he is ‘humiliated’

Ramalinga Reddy, a senior Congress legislator from Bengaluru, resigned after being denied the Bengaluru Development portfolio by Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar. He stated that he would not personally submit his resignation but would do so through an official channel. Reddy, who has been influential in East and North Bengaluru, expressed disappointment over the decision and claimed a promise made by Shivakumar to give him the portfolio was broken. Supporters of Reddy staged protests in his constituency. Former Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H.K. Patil urged leaders to address the issue justly.
