Himanta Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, announced his 12-member cabinet for a swearing-in ceremony on Friday. The new council will have 17 ministers, with two vacancies to be filled over the year. The newly appointed ministers include Ashwini Ray Sarkar, Ashok Singhal, Bimal Borah, Biswajit Daimary, Jayanta Mallabaruah, Kaushik Rai, Keshab Mahanta, Krishnendu Paul, Nilima Devi, Pijush Hazarika, Ranoj Pegu, and Susanta Borgohain. The swearing-in ceremony will formally constitute the new council under Sarma's leadership.
