Meghalaya and Nagaland Chief Ministers have called for the early release of 20 civilians, including 14 Kukis and six Nagas, allegedly held hostage by armed groups in Manipur. Conrad K. Sangma, Meghalaya's Chief Minister, expressed concern over the continued captivity of the villagers and urged all parties to pursue dialogue instead of violence. Neiphiu Rio, Nagaland's Chief Minister, also contacted Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, expressing his concern over the abduction of six Liangmai Nagas. Mr. Shah assured him that necessary measures would be taken to secure their release and bring the perpetrators to justice.
