Day after Punjab leader Bikram Majithia stormed police station, Amritsar Rural SSP shunted out | Chandigarh News

The Punjab government removed Amritsar Rural SSP Suhel Qasim Mir from his post following an incident where former minister and Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia and others allegedly attempted to forcibly release a detainee. Kanwalpreet Singh, currently the PPS officer in Amritsar Rural, has been given additional charge of SSP Amritsar Rural. Other IPS officers were also transferred with new postings including Satinder Singh as CP Jalandhar and Sandeep Goel as DIG Ludhiana Range. The reshuffle aims to strengthen law and order and border security according to senior officials.
