Hajj pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir are threatening to boycott return flights after airlines reduced their baggage allowance and announced luggage would be transported by road from Ahmedabad. The Indian Air Force — Srinagar, a defense airport, issued a NOTAM for Srinagar airport from April 6 to July 31 due to repair work, limiting evening flights and reducing the airport's capacity. Hajj Officer Shujaat Ahmad stated that this decision was discriminatory and has been raised with authorities, but no conclusive solution has been found. Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Waheed Para expressed concern over the treatment of pilgrims at Ahmedabad, calling for immediate intervention.
