Chhattisgarh liquor scam: ED arrests former CMO Deputy Secretary Soumya Chaurasia

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Soumya Chaurasia, a former Deputy Secretary in the Chief Minister's Office, in connection with an alleged liquor scam in Chhattisgarh. Ms. Chaurasia was arrested on December 16th and will be produced before a special court on December 17th. The ED alleges that Ms. Chaurasia is part of a larger syndicate responsible for illicit gains from the scam, which allegedly cost the state over ₹2,500 crore during the Bhupesh Baghel-led Congress government.
