Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah announces decision to step down at breakfast meeting with Ministers
Siddaramaiah, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, announced his resignation from the post during a breakfast meeting at his residence on May 28th. He informed his Cabinet colleagues that he had been asked to step down by the Congress High Command. The decision comes after speculation about his continuation and an offer of a Rajya Sabha seat from Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, who requested him to pave the way for a new leader.
