ED raids former Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s houses in CMRL pay-off case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids on the homes of former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his family, along with other locations across the state, in connection with an investigation into alleged political payoffs. The ED's action followed a High Court order allowing them to investigate Exalogic, a firm owned by Vijayan's daughter, T. Veena, which allegedly received monthly retainers from Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) during the 2017-2021 period without providing tangible services. The ED is investigating whether these payments constituted money laundering.
