Quad remains ‘vital’, says Japanese Foreign Minister, rejecting concerns over the grouping’s importance in the Indo-Pacific
Toshimitsu Motegi, Japanese Foreign Minister, stated that the Quadrilateral Foreign Ministers' Meeting (FMM) will prioritize cooperation on critical minerals for green energy and hi-tech. The meeting, hosted by S. Jaishankar, will also address ongoing conflicts in Iran and the Hormuz Strait blockade, as well as the recent visit of Donald Trump to China. The FMM is expected to set the agenda for the Quad Summit, which has not taken place since 2024 due to India-U.S. tensions.
