DMK faces a challenge as allies set to join TVK government
DMK, the Secular Progressive Alliance's leader since 2017, has lost most of its pre-poll allies. The party is now left with only MDMK and Manithaneya Makkal Katchi, who contested on its Rising Sun symbol. Additionally, the DMDK remains loyal to the TVK government. The Congress abandoned the DMK after the Assembly polls and joined Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay's Cabinet on Thursday, while the IUML and VCK are expected to join the Ministry on Friday.
