Demand to bring Anaimangalam Chola-era copper plates to Tamil Nadu gathers momentum
Su. Venkatesan, a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), and other individuals have called for the return of the Anaimangalam Chola-era copper plates to Tamil Nadu. These plates, currently held by Leiden University in the Netherlands, contain a decree from Rajendra Chola I granting the village of Anaimangalam as Pallichchandam. They are being requested to be displayed at the Nagapattinam museum or within the Gangaikonda Cholapuram temple complex.
