Great Nicobar project a recipe for ecological disaster: Jairam Ramesh

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh wrote to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, objecting to the Great Nicobar Island Development Project, calling it an "ecological disaster." Ramesh suggested alternative measures for strengthening national defense that would have less environmental impact, citing existing infrastructure and assets within the Andaman and Nicobar Command. He argued that the current project's plans are not necessary for military capability enhancement and could cause significant ecological damage.
