Kerala Cabinet: Congress leadership in talks with UDF allies to seal allocation of ministerial berths
Congress leadership in Kerala is continuing negotiations with United Democratic Front (UDF) allies over Cabinet-related decisions and ministerial portfolios. The party has requested compromises from its single-MLA allies, including Mani C. Kappan of the Nationalist Congress Party and Anoop Jacob of the Kerala Congress (Jacob), who have both demanded full terms in government. The Congress has allocated five Cabinet berths to the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), with P.K. Kunhalikutty expected to be included in a senior position. The UDF is also considering how to reward CPI(M) rebels who aligned with the Congress-led alliance after parting ways with the party.
