AIADMK faction led by C.Ve. Shanmugam declares support to TVK; says EPS wanted to be CM with DMK support
A rebel faction of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), led by former Ministers C.Ve. Shanmugam and S.P. Velumani, announced their support for the new Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government. Shanmugam and Velumani stated that this decision was made in response to the Assembly election results and accused Edappadi K. Palaniswami of attempting to form a government with the DMK, which they view as a betrayal of their party's principles. They requested an early meeting of the general council and emphasized that they are no longer in any pre-poll alliance.
