Kerala Assembly Elections 2026: Clean sweep for UDF in Ernakulam as LDF falls flat
The United Democratic Front (UDF) won all 14 constituencies in Ernakulam district, marking the Left Democratic Front's (LDF) worst defeat in the area in over a decade. Five segments that previously supported the LDF shifted their allegiance to the UDF, including Kalamassery, Kunnathunad, Kochi, Vypeen, and Kothamangalam. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s alliance partner, Twenty20, failed to make a significant impact on the election results despite securing most seats in the district.
