Vedasandur, a bellwether Assembly segment since 1957, bucks the trend
In the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, DMK won the Vedasandur Assembly segment in Dindigul district, a traditionally bellwether seat. However, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) emerged as the single largest party in the state, with candidates winning in both the Vedasandur and Sholavandan segments. T. Saminathan of the DMK won the Vedasandur segment by a margin of 10,063 votes, while M.V. Karuppaiah of the TVK won the Sholavandan segment by a margin of 2,678 votes.
