
Assembly elections 2026 LIVE: Repolling begins at 15 booths in South 24 Parganas after ECI's repoll order
Voting began on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 15 booths in two Assembly constituencies in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district for repolls ordered by the Election Commission following reports of electoral malpractices. The repolls were held in 11 polling stations of Magrahat Paschim Assembly constituency and four in Diamond Harbour. Shashi Panja, a TMC leader, alleged that the BJP had tried to provoke other parties on polling day to trigger large-scale repolling and "defame Bengal."
