Trinamool accuses Election Commission’s police observer of serious misconduct

Ajay Pal Sharma, a 2011-batch IPS officer, was added to the list of police observers for four Assembly constituencies in South 24 Parganas after initially being excluded from the initial list released by the Election Commission of India (ECI). He replaced Parmar Smit Parshottamdas, a 2017-batch IPS officer from Odisha cadre, who was originally assigned to these constituencies.
