DoJ inspector general to audit department’s compliance with Epstein Files Transparency Act | Jeffrey Epstein

The US Department of Justice’s office of the inspector general (OIG) announced an audit of the department's compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act. The audit will evaluate the justice department's processes for identifying, redacting, and releasing records related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The review will also assess the department's guidance and processes for withholding material as required by the act. Pam Bondi, former attorney general, was subpoenaed by the House oversight committee regarding her handling of the Epstein investigation. However, the committee has been informed that Bondi will not be appearing for a scheduled deposition due to her removal from office.
