Ex-Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nadendla Bhaskara Rao dies at 90

Nadendla Bhaskara Rao, a former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh and co-founder of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), died at a private hospital in Hyderabad on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. He was 90 years old and had been undergoing treatment for old-age-related ailments. His son, Nadendla Manohar, is the Minister for Civil Supplies, Food and Consumer Affairs in the TDP-led NDA government in Andhra Pradesh. Bhaskara Rao played a key role in the formation of the TDP in 1982 and was later expelled from the party. He served as an MLA from various constituencies and also held positions in the Lok Sabha and BJP. His body will be kept at his residence for public viewing before being cremated on April 24th.
