ED raids a political vendetta, claims Nalapad; Congress leaders question timing

Urgent Civic Alert: power abuse

Allegations of politically motivated raids raise concerns about abuse of power.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at various locations in Bengaluru on Tuesday as part of a cybercrime and cryptocurrency-related money laundering case involving Srikrishna Ramesh, also known as Sriki. Mohammed Haris Nalapad, son of Congress MLA N.A. Haris, claimed the action was politically motivated, alleging it aimed to derail his father's ministerial prospects. The ED has not yet issued a statement regarding the outcome or evidence collected. Congress leaders have accused the BJP of targeting them through investigating agencies, citing similar raids not being conducted on BJP leaders. Siddaramaiah, the Chief Minister, and other officials expressed concern over the timing of the raids and questioned their relevance.
