Tamil Nadu election 2026: Double engine of ground outreach and digital strategy marked DMK’s poll campaign

M.K. Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, led a star-studded campaign for the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance in Virudhunagar on April 5th. He delivered a tightly structured speech highlighting the achievements of the DMK government and targeting the BJP-led government at the Centre. Udhayanidhi Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister, also campaigned vigorously, while actor Kamal Haasan drew large crowds with his campaign. The DMK front relied on its strong party machinery, digital operations, and endorsements from prominent figures like P. Chidambaram and M.A. Baby, to reach various sections of society. Despite the absence of Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader campaigned separately.
