Bihar CM slams opposition over women's quota bill

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary criticized the opposition parties for their refusal to support an amendment to the women's reservation bill, calling it a "black day" and vowing retaliation. Sanjay Saraogi, state party president of the BJP, announced that the party's women's wing would hold a protest on April 20th against the opposition's stance. The amendment, which grants 33% reservation to women in Parliament, was passed by an overwhelming majority in 2023 but faced opposition from non-NDA parties who were wary of its link with delimitation.
